Anthony Lanzi Obituary


90,  passed away peacefully on April 14, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol, RI. He was surrounded by his loving family and the caring staff of St. Elizabeth Manor and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island.
He was the eldest son of Miguel (“Mike”) Lanzi and Pasqualina (“Lena”) Tanzi.
He was predeceased by his brother Sgt.Thomas Lanzi, CPD, of Cranston, and by his sister, Anna Ronci, formerly of Cranston and later of Johnston.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Anthony Ronci; his nieces Diane de Gray Birch and Brenda Aronow; his great niece Maria Saracen, her husband Scott, and her father John Patsias; his great nephew, Jeffrey de Gray Birch and his wife Peggy; his great niece Tria Aronow; his great-great niece Holly de Gray Birch; his great-great nephew John Saracen; and his great-great niece Luna Aronow.
Anthony was a US Army Veteran of WWII, serving in France and Germany.
He was a tool maker for several well known RI companies. In one position, he assisted in the making of a tool for the Apollo 11 space shuttle, which made the first successful manned landing on the moon.
One of the highlights of Anthony's life was that he retired when he was 49 years old. He loved to travel, visiting family and friends in many different states and countries. He also looked after his mother at home during her last 7 years when she suffered from Alzheimer's.
 
A calling hour for Anthony Lanzi will take place at Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI on Thursday, April 19, from 9-10 a.m. Immediately following, the funeral cortege will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered for Anthony at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, at 11a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice Rhode Island.
