82, of Longview Dr., Cranston died on November 10, 2017 at RI Hospital. She was the loving wife of John E. Marandola for 61 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Amelia (DeFusco) Bernardoni.
Mrs. Marandola was a graduate of St. Xavier’s Academy, Salve Regina University (Cum Laude) and RI College (M. Ed. Degree). Cynthia was a member of the Retired Teachers Association (Greater Providence Chapter).

Cynthia was an elementary school teacher in the Cranston School Department for 33 years until her retirement in 1989. During her teaching career she encouraged the ethnic studies programs and sponsored Heritage Day and International Day with her classes. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and a long-standing member of the former Rosary and Altar Sodality. Cynthia taught religious education for many years in the CCD program. Besides her husband, she leaves her brother Joseph N. Bernardoni and his wife Ann of Cranston. She was the devoted mother of the late John J. Marandola.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Immaculate Conception Church, Garden Hills, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on TUESDAY MORNING from 9:00 – 10:00am.
