89, of Narragansett, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27 at his home in Narragansett surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Amelia “Millie” (Vitulli) Crook. Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Raymond and Winifred (Ramsdell) Crook.

David was a US Coast Guard and US Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He later became a Detective Sergeant for the Providence Police Department before retiring. David was an active member of the Narragansett community, serving on the Town Council for several years and as a member of the Lions Club. He also volunteered at the Johnnycake Center of Peace Dale.

He is survived by his loving children, David J. Crook, Jr. of Westerly, Cynthia L. Moore of Narragansett, Michele A. Ellis of South Kingstown, Susan D. Mischler and her husband John, Sr. of Narragansett with whom he lived, and Maribeth F. Crook and her wife Rosemary of Narragansett; seventeen cherished grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren; dear siblings, Rosemary Foster of TX, and the late Marjorie Crook, John R. Crook and Audrey Levesque.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory- SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A) Narragansett, on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
