90, of Narragansett - Bonnet Shores, formerly of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Verna C. (Martellini) Sammartino. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Rocco and Lucia (Iacabone) Sammartino. Edward was a business manager for California Artificial Flower Associates for over thirty years, before his retirement. He was also a real estate developer. Ed loved the beach especially Aruba. He enjoyed baking and making Sunday dinner with his family. He enjoyed watching sports with his family, especially his trips to Yankee Stadium and Green Bay. He was a US Coast Guard veteran serving during WW II.

He is survived by his loving children, Edward R. Sammartino, Jr. and his wife Joanne of West Warwick, Paula Ochab and her husband Jonathan of Franklin, MA, Rocco Sammartino and his wife Lori of Saunderstown, Thomas Sammartino and his wife Jennifer of Cranston, and David Sammartino and his wife Eileen of Warwick.  He was the beloved father-in-law of  Michelle Sammartino of Warwick. Ed was the cherished grandfather of thirteen and the great-grandfather of Rocco Joseph DiNezza. He was the brother of Robert C. Sammartino of Cranston, and the late Louis and Nicholas Sammartino. Ed is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. And leaves his best friends Bob and Pauline Vacca of Narragansett.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday 4-8 p.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt.1A) Narragansett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.
