91, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of Clarence Long. Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Anna (Ferreira) Arnaldo. Evelyn was an employee for G Fox Department Store. Mrs. Long was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Cenacle at St. Mark’s Church, Cranston. She was also a volunteer at the Cranston Senior Center for many years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Evelyn Ferrara and her husband Paul of Cranston, Diane Degrandpre and her husband Richard of Cranston and Nancy Long of Chicago, IL. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Degrandpre, Eric Ferrara, Daniel Degrandpre, Jarrod Lark and Isaiah Lark; she was also the aunt of Barbara Ann Arnoldo, John and Tom Arnoldo. Evelyn was also the loving mother of the late Steven Long.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St Paul’s Church, 1 St. Paul Place, Cranston. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday morning from 8:00-9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 50 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-9826.
