of Cumberland, formerly of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2017 at the Mount St. Rita Health Center, Cumberland. She was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Joseph Abbatematteo. Beloved mother of Renee Rousselle of Blackstone, MA, Cheryl Abbatematteo, RN of Cumberland and Joseph Abbatematteo Jr. of CT. Beloved Mother-in-law of Robert Rousselle and JoAnn Abbatematteo. Beloved  grandmother of Danielle, Patrick and Christopher. Daughter of the late Michele and Lucia (Cotoia) Pastore. Sister of the late Peter, John and Carmino Pastore. Jean was a Secretary for the department of education for the State of RI. She was a member of the St. Philip Church Choir, Louisquisett Country Club, and Rally Point Racquet Club.  Jean enjoyed tennis, golf, piano and reading.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, Greenville. Inurnment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828.
