92, of Johnston and Westerly, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 63 years of the late Edmund A. Travelyn. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Alvina (Cantone) Russo.

Madeline received her bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College and went on to teach elementary and high school for Johnston Public Schools for over 30 years. She was also a lifelong parishioner of St. Rocco’s Church. She will always be remembered for her love of family, the beach, gardening, and the joy of the outdoors.

She is survived by her loving sons, Edmund A. Travelyn and his wife Jean of NH, Kenneth Travelyn and his wife Mary of North Scituate, and Anthony Travelyn and his wife Karen of Cranston; cherished grandchildren, Danielle Thomas, Erica Benton, Jay, Nicholas, Vincent, Samantha, Benjamin and Hannah Travelyn; four great grandchildren; dear siblings, Ida Acciardo of Johnston, Elizabeth Fluery of Johnston, and the late Vincent Russo, Jr., Alfred Russo, Sr., Mary Paiva, Florence Centofanti and Ann Chirichella.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday at 9:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
