Robert Hirshfield

93, of Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Robert was the husband of Dorothy (Colizzo) Hirshfield. Robert was a Private in the United States Army during World War II. Robert worked at Narragansett Brewery for many years before closing in 1982, and then worked for the City of Cranston before his retirement. Along with his wife Dorothy, Robert enjoyed many activities during his life, including dancing, bowling, traveling, eating out, shopping, and most of all, swimming laps at the Cranston YMCA.

Besides his beloved wife Dorothy, of sixty-nine years, Robert is survived by his beloved daughter, Barbara Jean (Hirshfield) Truver and her husband George “Ted” Truver, along with their children and grandchildren, of Bristol, RI: and a son, Mark Hirshfield of Los Angeles, California.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the Cranston YMCA’s Camp Massasoit program, 1225 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
