Rosaria Rose (Micheletti) D'Amato

April 1, 1922 ~ September 27, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years Old


 

 94, of West Warwick passed away at home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Paul Micheletti and Maria Grazia (Turchetta) Micheletti. She was married for 35 years to the late Giuseppe “Joseph” D’Amato Sr. and resided in Johnston. She is survived by her three sons Thomas D’Amato and his wife Frances of Wakefield,  Joseph D’Amato Jr. and his wife, Judy of Ohio, Dr. Stephen D’Amato and his wife Josephine of North Kingstown, and her daughter Marion (D’Amato) Cole of Cranston. Rose has 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers Anthony Micheletti, Albert Micheletti, John Micheletti, and her sister Elena (Micheletti) Cretella. She was sister to the late Paul and Vincent Micheletti and Maria Francesca Iodice. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Anna (D’Amato) Nardi and was sister-in-law to the late Salvatore D’Amato, Edith Simeone, Flora Diggins and Adella Pomelow.

During her lifetime, Rose was a hardworking entrepreneur. She and her husband Joseph, owned J&R Jewelry Co. of Johnston and two laundromats in Providence and Cranston. For many years, she was a caretaker for several elderly persons. After retiring to Florida, she pursued her passion for cooking at the Publix Supermarkets Deli and Shriner’s Club. Rose was a world class cook. She will be lovingly remembered by all who crossed her path.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday October 3rd at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 618 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS are Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston.
