Vincent B. Calise

July 2, 1926 ~ January 15, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old


90, of Cranston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of sixty-seven years to Helen (Ruscito) Calise. Born in Providence, he was son of the late Francesco and Jennie (Rao) Calise. Vincent was a systems analyst for the Federal Aviation Administration for thirty-six years before his retirement in 1982. After his retirement he was one of eleven Americans dispatched to Kuwait to educate and train the Kuwaiti Air Force in radar and communications. Vincent was a US Navy veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre during WW II.

 

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, JoAnn Calise-Mara and her husband Thomas of Naples FL and Paul V. Calise and his wife JoAnne Musial-Calise. He was the cherished grandfather of Laura E. Neimeyer and her husband Carl of Annapolis, MD, Cristina H. Calise of Pittsburgh, and Kendra H. Mara of Hoboken, NJ, and the Great Grandfather of James, Emmalina, and Vincent Neimeyer. Vincent was the brother of the late Fred, Domenic, and Anthony Calise, and Marianna Lovely.

 

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
