William Elliano

October 10, 1925 ~ June 10, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old


of West Warwick, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of seventy-two years to Josephine A. (Iaciofano) Elliano. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Jennie (Ferrenti) Elliano. Bill was a truck driver for the RI Department of Transportation for twenty-nine years before retiring in 1984. He was active in the community, involved in the Manton Seniors and its bowling league, the UCT, Bristol Veterans Home and the Cranston Senior Center. Bill was an avid bowler and a big fan of the Red Sox and antique cars.  Bill lived a long and happy life and only succumbed to ill health the last 5 months.  He will always be remembered for his love to dance.  He is free of pain and will dance in heaven forever.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Maryanne Paquin and her husband Roger of West Warwick, Elizabeth Gold and her late husband Randy of Johnston, Paula J. Malone and her husband Domenic of Glocester, and William A. Elliano of Atlanta, GA. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph Paquin and his wife Dawn, Renee Adamonis, and the late David Adamonis, Edward Adamonis, Joseph Paquin, and Gregory Paquin. William was the great-grandfather of twins Morgan and Collin Paquin.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue- Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
