Joseph C. Calore

93, of Bristol, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Ann (Wilson) Calore. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Bianco) Calore. Joseph was the owner of the former Calore Express Trucking Company and the former CRC Marine Services for many years until his retirement. He had a large impact on the trucking industry developing the concept and the equipment needed to place trailers on railroad cars for transport. He was a pioneer in the development of  refrigerated trucking. Joseph was a US Army Air Corps veteran serving during WW II.

He is survived by his loving children, Joseph C. Calore, Jr. of Wakefield, William J. Calore of Bristol, Michael J. Calore and his wife Lucille of Exeter, Roberta Sherwin and her husband Mark of Sandwich, MA, Janet M. Rhind and her husband David of North Smithfield, and Pamela J. Calore of San Marcos, CA. Joseph was the father of the late Daniel R. Calore. He was the cherished grandfather of nine and the great-grandfather of six. Joseph was the brother of Ernest Calore of Warwick and Florida, Salvatore Calore of Bellingham, MA, Louis Calore of Cranston, and the late Marie Jiacovelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted.
