Richard A. Liscio

74, of Narragansett, formerly of Rockland County, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Miriam Hospital. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raffaele and Maria (Ciruolo) Liscio. Richard was a graduate of Classical High School, and Rhode Island College ’64, where a studio is named for him at the RIC Art Center. He was also a member of the Board of Rhode Island College Foundation where he served as Vice President until resigning due to ill health. He went on to receive a Master’s degree at NYU. Richard received another degree at the Teacher’s College-Columbia University. He was then a faculty member of Hunter College, SUNY before embarking on a career in the banking industry at Goldman Sachs, retiring as Vice President for Enterprise Technology. He was proud of his Italian roots and heritage.  He valued the culture of Italy; he was a longtime supporter of art, opera and the theater. He retired from working and living in NYC and returned to his beloved Narragansett living at his Cielo Sul’ Terra.

Richard was the brother of the late Antonetta Damiani, Carmela “Millie” DeBeradis, Clara DeBeradis and Raffaele “Ralph” Liscio, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Augustine’s Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
A Memorial Service will be held in Rockland County, NY in the month of September. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Memorial Sloan Kettering, Cancer Center, P.O. Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028.
