FOUNDER 1898-1980

Angelo Nardolillo Sr., was twenty years younger than his brother Benny. He began to work with his brother until Benny’s retirement from funeral service. In 1954, Angelo Sr. established Nardolillo Funeral Home, Inc. at its present location 1278 Park Ave. Cranston. Angelo Sr. owned and operated the Cranston funeral home with his two sons, Robert A. Nardolillo Sr. and Angelo Nardolillo Jr., until his passing in 1980.

Second Generation 1929-2003

A second generation owner and operator of Nardolillo Funeral Home, Robert Sr. was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and attended both Providence College and Boston College School of Law. He was a graduate of the New England Institute of Anatomy and Mortuary Science.  Robert, Sr. was the CEO of Nardolillo Funeral Homes, Inc., founded by his father Angelo in 1906, and a member of both the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association until his death in 2003.

Second Generation 1932-2013

A second generation owner and operator of Nardolillo Funeral Home, Angelo was a graduate of  Mount Pleasant High School, Class of 1950. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1953 from Bryant College. Angelo was a member and Treasurer of the Alpha Theta Chi Fraternity, the Kings Court Alumni Association Society and the Bryant College Alumni Association where in 2003 he received The Loyal Guard award. Upon graduating, he was employed by Providence Union Trust Bank before joining the family business. In 1956 he graduated from the New England Institute of Anatomy and Embalming.  Angelo along with his brother Robert A. Nardolillo, Sr. operated the funeral home until his retirement in 1996.  He was a dedicated member of the Alpine Country Club for over 50 years, serving on the Board of Directors and Board of Governors of the Alpine Investment Co. He was also a member of the Renaissance Club, life member of the Tri City Elks B.P.O.E. #14, City Hall Athletic Club, and was an Honorary Mayor of Scarborough Beach.  "Uncle Al' will be deeply missed.

Robert A. “ Bob “ Nardolillo Jr., the eldest third generation Funeral Director and President of the Nardolillo Funeral Homes in Cranston and Narragansett graduated from the New England Institute of Anatomy and Mortuary Sciences, Boston, MA class of 1976. He is a lifetime member of the executive board of Directors and Past President of the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association and Member of the National Funeral Directors Association serving on its policy board. He was a past member of the Rhode Island Medical Examiners Commission and a charter member of the Funeral Ethics Association of America. He completed a course in disaster training at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, MD sponsored by the National Emergency Training Center in conjunction with the National Funeral Directors Association. He was also appointed in 1986 to serve on the Rhode Island Board of Examiners in Embalming and Funeral Directing for 6 years and re-appointed to the same board in 2000 serving an additional 6 years. In 1999, Mr. Nardolillo was recognized by the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner’s Office for his volunteer services at the temporary morgue site at Quonset Point during the Egypt Air Flight # 990 disaster for 3 months. He has volunteered and served on numerous, charitable, social, state, and city commissions and organizations.


Jeffrey D. Wilson

Embarking on a career in funeral service in 1971 at the age of seventeen, his journey and passion continued through January 8, 2020 when he lost his courageous battle with cancer. A graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Pittsburgh, PA, March Class of 1978, he was National Board certified, and a licensed Pennsylvania Funeral Director, since 1979. Relocating to Rhode Island in 1988, he was licensed as a  Rhode Island Registered Embalmer and Funeral Director in 1990. Jeff has been associated with the Nardolillo Funeral Homes, Inc. since 1997. A member of various professional organizations, he was a past member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. He served as a Past President of the Beaver-Lawrence Counties Funeral Directors Association of Pennsylvania from 1985-1986. Jeff is a past member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association, and was presently serving as  President of the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association, 2019-2021 and served on the National Funeral Directors Association Policy Board. He had previously served over two terms as a member of the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association, Board of Governors. Jeff was a member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, and is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CSFP), qualifying annually with the Academy.

David M. Nardolillo Sr., a third generation owner,  holds a Bachelors degree from Bryant University and two Associates degrees, one in Business Administration from the Community College of Rhode Island and the second in Mortuary Science from New England Institute at Mount Ida College , summa cum laude. David was the recipient of the Humanitarian award, the Sigma Mu Sigma and the Mu Sigma Alpha awards for outstanding academic achievement and citizenship, and the Certificate of Honor for excellence and scholarship. He was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa. In addition, David is a Certified Preplanning Consultant, a Nationally Board Certified Funeral Director and Embalmer, a charter member of the Funeral Ethics Association and a member of both the National and State Funeral Director Associations.

Angelo M. “Al” Nardolillo, a third generation owner, is a 1991 summa cum laude graduate of New England Institute at Mount Ida College, Newton, MA receiving his diploma in Mortuary Science. He was awarded The Fredrick H. Walker, Jr. Scholastic Award for the highest overall academic average and The Founders Award for “Academic Achievement, Humanitarianism and Promise of Outstanding Contribution to Funeral Service”.  He is a member of Sigma Mu Sigma Honor Society and was the recipient of the Mu Sigma Alpha Award presented by the National Association of Colleges of Mortuary Science “In Recognition of Outstanding Academic Proficiency”.  Al is a member of  Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association,and past member of its Board of Governors, a charter member of the Funeral Ethics Association, and member of National Funeral Directors Association.

Robert  A. Nardolillo III is a  graduate of the LaSalle Military Academy, Long Island, New York. He graduated with honors and the Officer's rank of 1st Lieutenant of the Bravo Company. Robert then  received his Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Arapahoe Community College, Littleton, Colorado. He is a member of the National and Rhode Island Funeral Directors Associations. 

Robert also works with Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island who provide compassionate, professional, state-of-the-art physical, emotional and spiritual care for all people facing life-threatening illness at any stage of life and in any setting they choose. Robert was a recipient of the Community Champion Award in 2009, and also works with their Campaign Steering Committee. He was also a former  State Representative in RI.

Angelo M. Andrew M. Nardolillo is a 2006 graduate of Cranston High School West, Cranston, RI. Andrew received an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science from FINE Mortuary College, LLC, located in Norwood, MA. Andrew is a member of the National and Rhode Island Funeral Directors Associations.

Anthony J. Nardolillo is a 2006 graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School, Warwick, RI. He then attended Suffolk University in Boston, MA. There he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Entrepreneurship & Marketing in 2010. Anthony then received an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science from FINE Mortuary College, LLC, located in Norwood, MA. 

Anthony currently serves as Vice President of the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association and is a member of the National Funeral Director Association.

In June 2021, Anthony was selected as one of twenty funeral directors nationwide to participate in the inaugural NFDA Emerging Leaders Program. 

The program features a practical and theoretical approach to advanced leadership topics. The curriculum, which is being developed in partnership with expert consultants in leadership development, will cover topics such as mentorship, ethical leadership, employee relations, collaborative decision-making, strategic planning, servant leadership, communication skills, small business ownership, and more.

Thomas M. Norato

Thomas M. Norato is a 1964 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Providence, RI. He is a graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, Boston, MA receiving his diploma in Mortuary Science in 1966. Tom has been associated with four generations at Nardolillo Funeral Home beginning in 1967. Tom is a member of Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP), qualifying yearly with the Academy; member and past President of Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association; member and past Policy Board member of National Funeral Directors Association; member of Rhode Island State Board of Examiners former member of the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Commission, and Advisory Board of Catholic Cemeteries; former member of the National Funeral Directors Association Governance Committee and Advocacy Committee, which is responsible for analyzing federal legislative and regulatory issues and recommending policy positions to the NFDA Policy Board.  Tom also serves as the Vice President of the Italo-American Club of Rhode Island.

John K. Najarian, Jr. is a 1970 graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy, Woonsocket, RI and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI in 1974.  He is a Cum Laude graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, Boston, MA receiving his diploma in Mortuary Science in 1979, and in 1981 he received a Certificate of Appointment as an Instructor in Applied Embalming for the academic year ending in 1982. In 1980, he founded the John K. Najarian Funeral Home on Westminster Street in Providence, RI; a business he owned and operated for 21 years until merging with Nardolillo Funeral Home in 2001. John is a member of Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP), qualifying yearly with the Academy; member and past President of Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association; member and past Policy Board member of National Funeral Directors Association; and past member of Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Commission. In 2000, John was recognized by former RI Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Elizabeth Laposata for volunteering full time for three months at the facility that was set up at Quonset Point, RI for assisting her and “dedication and service to Federal, State, and Egyptian Agencies and especially the families of those on board Egypt Air Flight 990 during its tragic loss off the Coast of Nantucket, MA, October 31, 1999”.

Maria King has been the Managing Funeral Director of our South County Chapel in Narragansett since 2019.

Maria has over 20 years of funeral service experience in Washington and Newport counties and is a longtime resident of North Kingstown. She also is currently serving as the President of the Rhode Island Funeral Director's Association.

Michaela A. (Branch) Nisbet

Michaela A. (Branch) Nisbet

RE/FD, CANA Certified

 is a 2001 graduate of Coventry High School, Coventry RI. She then attended Rhode Island College, studying criminal justice and psychology before deciding to attend mortuary school. Michaela then attended and is a 2005 graduate of Briarwood College, Southington, CT. She received two associate degrees, one in Mortuary Science, and one in General Studies. She was named Who’s Who among National Junior College’s in 2004.

Michaela has over 17 years’ experience and holds her Funeral Director’s License in both Rhode Island and Connecticut. The last 9 years have been spent here in Rhode Island serving families in several counties throughout the state. Michaela is a member of the Academy of Professional Service Practice and is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP), and a Certified Crematory Operator, (CCO). She is a past Board Member of the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association and a member of National Funeral Directors Association. Michaela has a great passion for all aspects of funeral service and takes great pride in being able to care for families in their time of need.
