Anahid Nalbandian

Of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Aleppo, Syria to her parents Dikran and PailadzounNalbandian. She was an elememtary and high school teacher at the Sahagian School in Aleppo . She was assistant administrator of Children's Welfare and Health Clinic in Aleppo , Syria .

She  came to the United States in 1970 . She received her Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Food and Nutritional Sciences at URI. She was a member of American Dietetic Association and a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi  at URI .

She was a registered dietitian/nutritionist . She was a  dietitian  at Bannister House Nursing Care center and a consultant dietitian  at Riverside Nursing Home . She was the Principle Detitian at the Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston for over 28 years when she retired in 2008.

She was also the Principal and teacher at the Sts. Vartanantz Mourad Armenian School from 1971-1980. She was a member of the ARS Ani Chapter and served as the treasurer for many years.

She was the beloved sister of the late Azniv Berberian of Aleppo and Maro Nalbandian of Cranston. She leaves behind her sister Knarig and husband Hank Jones of Canada, brother Ara and wife Maggie Nalbandian of Cranston and her nephews Zorig and Diran Berberian of Fresno, Henry Jones of Canada, Ari Nalbandian of Cranston, and nieces Shake and husband Michel Khorozian of Beirut, Lebanon, Sylva and husband Garo Yuzbashian and Maggie Berberian of Aleppo, Syria, 7 grand nephews and grand nieces and 7 great grand nephews and nieces. 

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 11am at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church on 402 Broadway, Providence, RI. Burial will take place at North Burial Ground following funeral services. Visiting hours are Tuesday July 17, 2018 from 10am – 11am at the church.
