Arleen C. (Drury) Dmytryshyn

June 29, 1941 ~ December 2, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Arleen Celine Dmytryshyn, 76, of Ellison Street Cranston, died peacefully at home on December 2nd surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Michael Dmytryshyn.

Born in Providence, daughter of the late Leo R. and Catherine (Ward) Drury, she lived in Cranston for 49 years.  Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Erin Dellagrotta and Lara McCann and a son Michael Dmytryshyn Jr., two sons-in-law, Tony Dellagrotta and Patrick McCann and a daughter-in-law Amy Dmytryshyn. Her most precious gift was her Grandchildren, Michael Dmytryshyn, Christina Dellagrotta, Tiana McCann, Anthony Dellagrotta, Kayla McCann, Mark Dmytryshyn, Catherine Dellagrotta, Kelly Dmytryshyn, Sean McCann and Ashley McCann. She also leaves her dear brother, Leo R. Drury and wife Fran; and late brother Raymond Drury and his late wife Joanne, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Arleen was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She had a career in insurance, working many of those years for Starkweather & Shepley. She enjoyed outdoor activities that could be shared with her family and friends including cross country skiing, hiking, biking, golfing and camping.  Arleen’s faith and love of family gave her strength to battle complications that arose from cancer 47 years ago. Despite many medical challenges, she never wavered in her desire to enjoy life to its fullest. She became a symbol of perseverance and hope to others. Arleen was a compassionate person and so many considered her a second mom. She has been a spiritual compass for anyone that knew her. We will truly miss this extraordinary woman who we call “The Rock” of our family.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday December 9th 2017 from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, at 8:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr. in Cranston at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.

Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday Dec 8th at Nardolillo Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, Contributions in Arleen’s memory to Crossroads RI (http://www.crossroadsri.org) or RI Food Bank (http://www.rifoodbank.org) would be deeply appreciated.
