Christine Chifotides Obituary

 

100, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Demetrios and Anastasia (Korkanou) Chifotides. Christine was the Supervisor of RI Underwriting for Amica Mutual Insurance Company for 30 years before her retirement in 1983. She was a driver for the American Red Cross and had the desire to be deployed overseas during WW II. Christine was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and was well versed in the Greek language and culture. She was the primary caregiver for her entire family, especially for her sister Helen for over twenty years. Her compassion and loving nature was unsurpassed.

She is survived by her niece Helen T. Chifotides-Souliotis and her husband George Souliotis of Houston, TX, her cousin Demetra Lambros of Cranston, Nicholas and Joanna Lambros and their children Nicholas and Christopher, all of Cranston. Christine was the sister of the late Helen Chifotides and John Chifotides.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920.
