Claire (DiMente) Shippee

formerly of Cranston, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston.  She was the wife of the late Clarence V. Shippee and the late Joseph J. Coury.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Theresa (Napolitano) DiMente.

Claire was a crossing guard for the City of Warwick and a former constable before retiring.  She enjoyed her puppy Cha Cha, ballroom dancing, entertaining and spending time at the casino.

She was the devoted mother of Deborah A. Charron of Coventry, Joseph Coury of Lincoln, Corinne Hachadorian of Coventry and Charlie Coury of North Port, FL; loving grandmother of Joseph C. Hachadorian and Kerri A. Hachadorian; loving great-grandmother of Sophie C. Hachadorian; and dear sister of Antonette “Honey” Carbone and Theresa “Tessie” Cochran, both of Warwick, Alfred DiMente, Jr. of Hollywood, CA and the late Anthony DiMente, Rose Cesino, Pauline Ursillo, Marion Manni, Stella McLaughlin and Anna Signore.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday, April 17th at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m.  Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are TUESDAY MORNING from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
