Diana Mowatt Obituary

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, Diana Mowatt, a loving mother, sister, daughter, auntie, partner, and friend, passed away at the age of 56 alongside her soulmate, Steve Gardella.

Diana was born on October, 26th, 1962 in Lynn, Mass to Dino and Jan (Glennon) Kangis. She grew up alongside her big, beloved family in Massachusets, before moving to Alaska at age 19 with her big sister Katina, and her mother Jan, with whom she was inseparable with. After five years in the great white north, she then joined her family in Ft. Lauderdale where she was instrumental in building a successful insurance agency alongside Michael Digiorgio. She proudly celebrated 28 years with Allstate, and had an objectively thriving career.

In 1993 she married John Mowatt, father of her cherished son, and her husband of 17 years, and became a devoted stepmother to Samantha, Jason, and John. She welcomed Alexander John Mowatt, the light of her life, into the world on September 1st, 1997. Raising Alex was her greatest joy in life and her life's purpose - and in this mission, she excelled by raising the most exceptional young man. The bond they share is unparalleled and extraordinary, they are the best of friends. Anyone who knew her will laugh at her "helicopter parenting", which was undoubtedly influenced by her hundreds of hours of training as a helicopter pilot.

In 2007, fate brought her together with her partner in life and true love, Steve, at a chance meeting at the martini bar. They enjoyed twelve incredible years together traveling the world, riding throughout the country, raucous nights with friends and family, and enjoying quiet moments in their home. Steve and Alex grew wonderfully close, and nothing made her happier than to see the two most important men in her life love each other.

The loss of this phenomenal, vivacious, funny, beautiful, driven, adventurous woman is incomprehensible. Our "Cruise Director" will be sorely missed.
