89, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving family and friends. “Marie” as she was affectionately known, was married for 64 years and survived by her loving husband Richard DelFino, Sr. Born in Providence and raised on Federal Hill, Marie was a daughter of the late Francesco and Mary (Agugiaro) DeLisi. She was the proud graduate of Classical High School, class of 1946, and attended Pembroke College.

Marie was an extraordinary woman who lived a simple dignified life, of selfless caring for her family and friends. Her acts of kindness and gentleness touched the hearts of so many, for which she will never be forgotten and so very missed. She was a devout Catholic; a parishioner at St. Rocco’s Church in Johnston who loved and lived her Christian faith.

Marie was the beloved mother of Richard DelFino, Jr., and his wife Debra of Johnston, Peter DelFino and his wife Maggie of Punta Gorda, FL. She was the cherished grandmother of Richard DelFino III, and his wife Ariana, David DelFino and his girlfriend Arielle Morton, and Vincent DelFino; she was also the cherished great-grandmother of Richard DelFino IV. Marie was the sister of Vincent DeLisi, and Theresa Gomes both of North Providence and the late Peter DeLisi. Marie was also blessed with many wonderful family and friends.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday August 2nd, at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919 or to St. Rocco School, 931 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
