John Esposito, Jr.

86, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Ray) Esposito. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John Esposito, Sr. and Sarah (Catanzaro) Colardo.

John worked in the Providence Public School Department for many years as a teacher, guidance counselor and assistant principal. He was a member of the Rosario Society for over 50 years, as well as the RI Football Officials Organization and was inducted into the RI Gridiron Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his loving children, John “Jack” Esposito, III and his wife Diane of Cranston, and Christine Dorazio and her husband George also of Cranston; cherished grandchildren, Colin (Sara), Jenna Ray, Peter, Jordan, Jillian, Alex and Tayla; dear sister Josephine Actis. John was predeceased by his sister Marie Lombardi, step-father Guido Colardo, and daughter-in-law Susan Esposito.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
