John H. Reavey

June 8, 1932 ~ October 7, 2018 (age 86) 86 Years Old

John Reavey Obituary

of Yale Ave., Providence, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband for 66 years of Esther M. (Mariorenzi) Reavey.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Castro) Reavey.

John was a pressman at the Providence Journal for 45 years before retiring and was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. He cherished summers with his family at the ocean and enjoyed boating, waterskiing and fishing in Narragansett Bay and at Worden Pond.

Besides his wife Esther, he was the devoted father of John H. Reavey, Jr. and his wife Ruth of Bristol, Thomas C. Reavey of Providence, Mary L. Gendreau of East Greenwich, Joyce A. Lancellotti and her husband William of East Greenwich and Carole L. Reavey of Providence; loving grandfather of Adam, Leah, Charissa, Luc, Meryl, Salvatore and Benjamin; cherished great-grandfather of Karlee, Mackenzie and Hannah; and dear brother of Louise Goding of Cranston, Roberta Bowe of Coventry and the late Frances Allen.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 12th at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS are Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
