Marie Gallante

84, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Gallante.

Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A., Sr. and Carmela M. (Ruggiero) Nasby.

Marie worked as an Administrator for the Board of Governors for Higher Education for twenty-eight years before retiring.

She was a member of OLLI at the University of Rhode Island, The Friends Group of South County and served on the Board of the Sweet Allen Farm Condominium Association.  She was very active in various clubs and organizations especially during her retirement years.  Marie was a strong advocate for education and enjoyed the theater and the Rhode Island Philharmonic. The most cherished part of her life was her family and especially her grandchildren. She was very active with her grandchildren throughout their younger years and continued to be their strongest advocate and support system in to adulthood. She has left an indelible mark on all of their lives and will forever be carried in their hearts. 

She leaves two children, John J. Gallante of Wakefield, Robin M. Beaupre and her husband Richard M. Beaupre of Narragansett; a brother, Joseph A. Nasby, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL; and her four beloved grandchildren, Tyler J. Beaupre, Amanda E. Alberts and her husband Timothy, Laura A. Beaupre and Ashley A. Gallante.

Her funeral and burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gamm Theater, 1245 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI 02886.
