Raymond J. Brown

81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of fifty-seven years to Ann M. (Leone) Brown. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raymond and Theresa (Iannucci) Brown. Raymond was an operating engineer for Union Local # 57 for forty-one years before his retirement in 1999. He was a US Army veteran serving during peacetime.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Carlene M. Damato and her husband Anthony of Cranston, Raymond J. Brown, Jr. and wife Deborah Rasile of Cranston, Michael C. Brown and his wife Dawn C. Stern of North Carolina. He was the father of the late Judith A. Vartanian and the father-in-law of James Vartanian of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Anthony Damato, James, Christopher and Matthew Vartanian, Theresa, Raymond, Olivia and Michael Brown. Raymond was the brother of Gladys Dimeglio of North Providence, Georgia Cotoia of Cranston, Patricia Feole of Foster, Harold Brown of Johnston, Richard Brown of Hope, and the late Mildred Waddington, Adelaide Marrietti, Helen Young, Joyce Nardone, Lois Gibree and George Brown.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
