 82, of Cranston passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Saccoccia) Stravato. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Louis and Rose(D'Agnillo) Stravato. He is survived by his children, Gail A. Hogan (Stephen) of Cranston, Robert A. Stravato, Jr. (Deborah) of Cranston, Stefanie Stravato-Scorpio (Thomas) of Cranston, Bruce A. Stravato of Cranston, and John P. Stravato (Charlene) of West Greenwich. Robert was also the father of the late Stephen W. and Richard A. Stravato. He was the very loving and devoted grandfather of Fallon, Victoria, Thomas, Taylor, Steven, Brianna and Christianna. He leaves his sisters Gloria Caniglia of Johnston, Carol LaBianca (Vincent) of Cranston and his sisters-in-law Dorothy and Carol Stravato and Beverly DeLuca. He was the brother of the late Gaetano, Louis R., Edward W. Stravato and Nancy DiCostanzo. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr Stravato was the former owner of Annex Sheet Metal & Roofing Company. He also worked as Clerk of the Works for the City of Cranston, as Chief of Maintenance Operations for the State of RI, Assistant General Manager of RIPTA, and he was also employed at CVS. Bob was also involved in many fraternal and civic organizations throughout his life. He was a former member of the City Hall AC Club, former Republican Councilman of Ward 2. He was very active in the Knights of Columbus. First, as a member of Hope Council #398, working his way up to Grand Knight, then becoming a member of the State Council. Bob was also the driving force in organizing the Hope Senior Center in Providence. He is an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
