Roger Paquette Obituary

82, passed away at RI Hospital in Providence, RI on December 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Catherine E. (Santoro) Paquette for 53 years. Born in Lowell, MA on November 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Regina M. (Theriault) Paquette. He was the father of Michael R. Paquette and his wife Felicia Manni-Paquette, and Anthony J. Paquette and his wife Miyako Miki; grandfather of Amber, Zachary, Michael and Nina Paquette; brother of Donald L. Paquette and his wife Suzanne Paquette.

Roger grew up on Wood Street in Oakland Beach. He graduated from Our Lady of Providence Seminary and briefly taught high school French in New London, CT. He served three years in the US Navy, aboard the USS Hyman (DD-732).

After graduating from Providence College in 1961, he began a career as a Social Case Worker for the Rhode Island Department of Human Services which would last over 35 years. Roger and Cathy were married in September 1965 and moved to Yellowstone Avenue in Warwick, RI where they raised their two sons.

Roger remained an avid PC Basketball fan, having been a season ticket holder for over 35 years. In addition to the Friars, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. In retirement, Roger enjoyed going to the casino with Cathy, spending time with his grandchildren, watching them playing sports. He was very proud of them all.

He will be dearly missed by all.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Timothy’s Church at 11:00 a.m.  VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4:00-8:00 p.m.  Burial, with Military Honors, will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
