Salvatore J. Rosa

84, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Cedar Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Cranston. He was the beloved husband of sixty years to Dorothy (Turchetta) Rosa. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Comella) Rosa. Salvatore was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War era. He was a production facilities manager for the former Uncas Manufacturing Company forty-eight years before his retirement. Salvatore was an avid softball player and Yankee fan. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Michael J. Rosa and his wife Maria of Cranston, and Sally Ann Hersey and her husband Todd of North Smithfield. Salvatore was the cherished grandfather of Michael Rosa, Eric Rosa, and Dane Hersey. He was the brother of Virginia Moreau of Warwick, Teresa DiCicco of Cranston, and was predeceased by fourteen other siblings.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
