Stella Lisi Obituary

92, of Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Lisi Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Anna Maria (Sebastianelli) Torti. Stella loved to cook, bake, and enjoyed creating floral arrangements, especially making wreaths for many of her family and friends.  She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish in Providence and she was a long-standing member of the Arthritis Foundation.

Stella is survived by her loving children, Maryann Friden and her companion Frank Caduto of Warwick, Rosemary Trant and her husband Charles of Providence, Rita Casinelli of Providence and her fiancé Frank Sullo, and Richard Lisi Jr., and his wife Velia of Cranston. She was the cherished grandmother of Tara, Jonathan, Tiffany, Aria and her husband Tom, Richard III, Jenna and Nicholas; great-grandmother of Mikaylee and Cassidee. She was the sister of Anthony Torti and sister in law of Lee Torti of Diamond Bar, CA and the late Beatrice Duffy.  She leaves behind her niece, Nina Giblin and her husband Steven of Providence, who were very instrumental in caring for her at home, and several other loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 25th, at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Providence. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000-Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
