Vito M. Basilico

97, of Johnston, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte (Hermavson) Basilico. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria (Palmisaro) Basilico. Vito was a toolmaker in the jewelry industry for many years before his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Janet Ricci and her husband Edward of Palm Beach Gardens and Newport, and Victor Basilico and his wife Kathleen of Johnston. Vito was the cherished grandfather of Edward W. Ricci, Dorothea Ricci Faxon, Jessica Ricci, Max Ricci, Vikki Basilico-Covarrubias, Amy Basilico and Michael Basilico, and the great-grandfather of Alexis Ricci, Stella Ricci, Samantha Ricci, Charlotte Faxon, Rasmus Ricci, and Maj. Ken Ricci. He was pre-deceased by four brothers and sisters. Vito was the companion to Helen Calligano of Johnston.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS Saturday morning 10:00 – 12:00.
