of Raven Circle, Cranston, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 lovingly surrounded by her family at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Efstathios “Steve” C. Marses. Born in Pittsfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Georgia (Dounetos) Haveles.
Betty was a former co-owner of Royal Lunch of Providence as well as Royal Poultry, Inc. of Cranston for 35 years before retiring in 1990 however she maintained her role as an impeccable bookkeeper until her final days.
She is survived by her loving children, Katherine R. Grammas and her husband Constantine of Cranston and Constantine E. Marses and his wife Tina of Cranston. She was the cherished “Yiayia” (grandmother) of Dionisia, Elizabeth, Eleni, and Nicole Grammas and Elizabeth, Angela, and Thea Marses. Betty was the sister of Michael Haveles of Cranston, John Haveles of California, Paul Haveles of Virginia, and the late Theodore Haveles.
Betty will forever be remembered as a compassionate, generous, and sincere lady. She was a true role model and taught her family many important life lessons through her actions and words. She was the “go to” person for a large extended family and offered a helping hand without hesitation. She touched the lives of many people who all have fond memories of her wit and wisdom. The love that she felt for her family cannot be described, and her granddaughters brought her the utmost happiness. She was one of a kind, and she will be incredibly missed.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday May 5th at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be at North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
