Josephine T. (Rossi) Owens

of Providence, passed peacefully on 9/8/2023 at 97 years old. Born in Johnston, she was the daughter of Frank Rossi and Angelina Rossi (Scungio). She was the sister to the late Phillip, Blaise, and Frank Rossi, Jr... Loving wife to the late Henry H Owens, Sr., they were married for 59 years. A beloved mother, she is survived by her daughter, Marguerite North of Cranston, and son, Henry H Owens, Jr. of East Greenwich. Grandmother of four (Jennifer, Rebecca, Daniel, Julie), Great-grandmother of five (Saige, Marissa, Rory, Morgan, Sadie), and Great-great-grandmother of one (Bennett). Many Nieces, Nephews, and cousins also survive Josephine.

Josephine was a retired manager of John Pilling's shoe department for over twenty years and was a receptionist at Comet Cleaners in Garden City for several years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and active participant at St. Anthony’s Church and the St. Vincent De Paul Society in Silver Lake for many years. A supreme cook and avid bingo player, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and brought a smile to all.

VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
