Selina E (DePasquale) Cellucci

Selina DePasquale Cellucci, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend was called to her special place in heaven on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Born in Providence, RI, on June 13,1988 to Steven and Maria DePasquale she leaves behind two beautiful sons David (14), and Donato (10), whom she loved greatly and her brother Justin DePasquale and his daughter Aubrie. She loved her family, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and many friends who are showing their outpouring of love.

Selina was a shining light to everybody she met. She had a way of brightening up any family gathering which she ignited by her beautiful smile, humor, and sharp wit. Her sensitivity and caring led her to pursue a career as a CNA, where she tirelessly cared for the elderly and less fortunate for several years.

Selina was generous to others even when she did not have much of her own to give. Never hesitant to take in a friend or family in need, give them her last dollar, or simply be by their side in a time of need she always helped in any way she could. She helped new moms in need by gathering much needed baby supplies as well as silently organized fundraisers to support Autism and breast cancer.

At an early age, Selina was an avid figure skater with the Warwick Figure Skaters Club traveling across the country with her team to show her talents and compete with the best in the country. A wall of medals is proudly displayed at our home. She ran track in high school surprising us with her speed while beating more advanced runners even though she insisted on running in high-top basketball sneakers. She enjoyed snowboarding with her family and her cousins and was known to do some daring tricks. Few people knew that she wrote beautiful poetry.

A more recent passion for Selina was hatching and raising hundreds of breeds of chickens in her backyard and giving the eggs away. She became a professional in the subject by forming the “2 Crazy Chicken Chicks” with her friend Melissa, selling chicks and consulting others on how to start their family chicken community.

But her greatest love was spending time with her two boys and family creating beautiful memories for them. During the holidays, she cherished creating Christmas memories with her family. Her front door would often overflow with Amazon packages ensuring that Santa left many presents under her tree for not only her boys, but others as well. Selina very much-loved playing street hockey and building puzzles with her son Donato and going on nature walks with him to explore the woods and streams nearby. Recently, she introduced David to her love of snowboarding, spending the day on the mountain with him. Selina was also a huge fan of the New England Patriots where she would sometimes tailgate and attend games with her brother Justin and Dad. Her energy at these events was infectious and full of joy, fun, and laughter.

Selina will forever be remembered for her extreme generosity, her love for her sons and family, and a legacy of kindness and compassion to those she cared for. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 27th at 1230 pm in St. Anthony’s Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence.
