97, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 75 years to Vincenza (Checchia) Valletta. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Paul Valletta and the late Philomena (Pantalone) Valletta.
Tom was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the Philippines. Tom worked for the former B.F. Rosen company in Providence for many years, later becoming the Vice President for Bradford Textile.
Tom was an avid golfer and played at Triggs Golf Course for many years before becoming a member of Valley Country Club in West Warwick, RI.
Besides his wife Vincenza, Tom leaves three loving children, Cathy A. Valletta of Johnston, Thomas A. Valletta, Jr. and his wife Francine Valletta of Riverside, and Robert V. Valletta of Cranston who was his caretaker. He leaves two beloved grandchildren Cara Shibley and her husband Kyle of Hope, and Nicolas Valletta and his wife Jennifer of Seekonk, MA, and five great grandchildren Ella, Alex, Eric, Jameson and Sienna. Tom was the brother of Camille Votta of North Providence, and stepbrother of Connie Manchester of Cranston.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 8:30a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
