a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dedicated professional, passed away on June 10, 2026. Born in Providence, RI, Adele’s life was marked by a steadfast commitment to family, community, and her work.
Adele devoted many years to her career in human resources within the business office at Moses Brown School, where she was valued for her warmth and professionalism. She built lasting friendships there and helped countless employees navigate complicated processes with care and support.
Family was Adele’s greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Blackman, and their son, Michael Blackman and his wife Kathleen of Stratham, NH. Adele’s heart was especially full in the presence of her grandchildren, Nora Blackman and Liam Blackman, who brought immense happiness and light to her life. She was also surrounded by many family members and friends who will deeply feel her absence and treasure the memories she leaves behind. Adele’s parents, Joseph and Della (Ammiano) Barbato, as well as her siblings Corrine Penza, Vincent, Joseph, Robert, and Donald Barbato, preceded her in death.
Adele found great joy in traveling, exploring new places, and sharing special moments with her grandchildren and friends. Her kindness was felt by all who had the opportunity to spend time with her.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 8:45am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITING HOURS Friday from 4-7pm.
The funeral Mass will be LIVE-STREAMED via the Nardolillo Funeral Home Facebook Page.
