96, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Garofalo. Born in San Pedro, CA., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Doria (Curtis) Garrity. Earlier in her life, Alana achieved a nursing degree, becoming a registered nurse.
For an impressive 44 years, she was also the assistant to the Director of Catholic Cemeteries, a role she approached with great respect and diligence.
Alana was proud of her heritage, being half Native American, and actively engaged with the Indigenous People Organization Inc. She was a respected member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, where she contributed her time and talents. Known for her captivating storytelling, Alana was a fascinating person to be around; her presence and narratives brought warmth and joy to her gatherings.
Alana cherished the moments spent with her family, which included her loving children, Frank Garofalo and his wife Linda of Warwick, and Roseanne Pacific of Cranston. She was a devoted grandmother to Allan and Robert Pacific, Frank Jr., Stephen, and Marc Garofalo, and graciously welcomed 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren into her life, relishing every moment with them. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Antonetta Dougherty, and her son-in-law, Francis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Jan. 30th, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Entombment will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
