beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home on January 29, 2026, at the age of 107. Born on October 19, 1918, in Providence, Rhode Island, Alba was a guiding light to her family and a source of warmth to all who knew her.
As a daughter of Giovanni and Giulietta (Bellotti) Santagata, Alba grew up surrounded by the values of love and respect, with all her loving siblings. She was a devoted wife to the late John G. Caruso.
Alba dedicated her life to her family, a proud accomplishment that she treasured above all else. She is survived by her daughter, Angela F. Caruso, and her husband David Zoglio of South Kingstown, as well as her son, John Caruso, and his partner Garland Blanks of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Additionally, she leaves behind her nieces, Barbara Schiano and Linda Conte.
Alba had various interests that brought joy into her life. She was known for her exceptional baking and cooking skills, a passion that she graciously shared with her loved ones. In her leisure time, Alba enjoyed listening to talk shows and watching movies.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10am in the Christian Brothers Center, 635 Ocean Road, Narragansett. Her burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
