Alfonso Carbone

76, of Smithfield passed away peacefully on Monday, June  6, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Gretel (Hettrich) Carbone. Born in Rocca Romana, Italy, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Eleonora (Montanaro) Carbone. Alfonso was a polisher for many years for the former Bolova Watch Company of Providence.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Isabella D’Andrea and her husband Romeo of Johnston, Marion Hettrich of Smithfield, Claudia Venezia and her fiancé Jeffrey Trainer of Warwick, and Ramona Heinz of Smithfield. He was the cherished grandfather of Sabrina, Alesendro, Alessio, and Alex. Alfonso was the brother of Giuseppe Carbone of Johnston, Pietro Carbone of North Providence, Antonio Carbone of Florida, Luigi Carbone of Providence, Filomena Perrotta of Florida and the late Michele, Giovanni, and Agostino Carbone, Maria Deganutti, Letizia D’Andreti, and Orsola Vessella.

His funeral services and burial will be private.
