95, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Lucille (Lombardi) for 71 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred and Maria (Pacino) Conca Sr.
Alfred dedicated his professional life to public service as the Assistant Director for the Public Property Department for the City of Providence. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. Family meant everything to Alfred. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, and created countless memories. Alfred and Lucille spent over 40 years traveling to Vero Beach, Fl during the winters. Alfred, known to everyone as A.C., was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, and Notre Dame football.
Besides his wife Lucille, Alfred is survived by his loving children, Michael Conca of North Providence, Michele Sylvia of Johnston, and Gina D’Iorio-Araujo and her husband Antonio Araujo III of Coventry. He was the cherished grandfather of Alanna Conca, Nicholas Conca, and Meadow D’Iorio. He was the brother of the late Raymond Conca.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 10th, at 11:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory,1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston. VISITING HOURS: Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the RI Blood Center, https://www.ribc.org/donate-blood/.
