Alfred J. 'Al' Paolantonio
85, of Johnston, passed away on October 6, 2014 at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanora (Meglio) Paolantonio. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Geatano and Angela (Colonna) Paolantonio.
Alfred served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Paolantonio Construction for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Little Rhody Model A Club, was an avid golfer and New York Giants and Yankees fan.
He is survived by his loving children, Donna M. Smith and her husband Wayne C. of Johnston, Alfred G. Paolantonio and his wife Dawn of West Warwick, and Ricky J. Paolantonio and his wife Julie of Warwick; cherished grandchildren Vanessa and Dallas Smith, Nicholas and Austin Paolantonio, Derek and Larissa Paolantonio; dear siblings, Ernest Paolantonio of Johnston, Robert Paolantonio of North Providence, Richard Paolantonio of Narragansett, and Rosemarie Janelle of Florida. He was the brother of the late Frank Paolantonio. He is also survived by his aunt Alice Vecchio of North Providence.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will take place in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS will be Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Rhode Island, 260 West Exchange St. Suite 102 B, Providence, R.I. 02903.
