77, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria (Guido) Veltri.
A graduate of LaSalle Academy and Providence College, Fred went on to earn his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law in Ohio.
A member of the RI Bar Association and the American Bar Association, he practiced law in Rhode Island for 51 years. He was known for his care and compassion for his clients and was respected by his peers for his kindness and professionalism. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia R. (Drummond) Veltri, and his sons, Nicholas A. Veltri of New York City, New York and Christopher R. Veltri (Emily Harris, M.D.) of Seattle, Washington as well as his brother, Frank Albert Veltri, M.D. (Joan) and his sister, Vera R. Scalise. He was the brother of the late Maria Carmela Veltri.
He is also survived by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Fred was exceptional and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, integrity and many cherished memories.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI.
A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI. Everyone attending the Funeral Mass should go directly to the Church. Burial will be in St Ann Cemetery in Cranston, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741, or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
