97, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home in East Greenwich. Born in Providence, Alice was the daughter of Tarves “Rose” (Bozoian) and Thomas Zorabedian, Armenian immigrants who fled the Hamidian Massacres, landing safely in Providence. She was the wife of the late Salvatore “Bob” DeAngelis.
The youngest of seven children, Alice was predeceased by Myra Zorabedian of Providence, Diane Montecalvo of Warwick, Grace Topazio of Bristol, Anthony Zorabedian of Baltimore, Samuel Zorabedian of North Kingstown, and Richard Zorabedian of Saunderstown.
After graduating from Central High School, Alice worked for many years at Speidel and then for 22 years at Met Life, where she received special recognition for her contribution to the company. She loved to read mysteries, watch the news, play cards and bingo, and travel to the casinos, starting decades ago in Atlantic City and later at Foxwoods. She also loved to shop, and by her own admission, if she saved the money that she spent on shoes, she “would be rich!”
Alice was known for her wit and “feisty” banter. She lived in Warwick for many years before moving to Seasons Assisted Living in East Greenwich, and very recently to St. Elizabeth's. Special thanks to the VNA of RI nurses who provided wonderful hospice care for Alice in her final weeks.
Alice had many nieces and nephews, including Joan (Zorabedian) Kelly, Victoria (Topazio) Kennett, Joseph Montecalvo, Sandra Montecalvo, Donna (Zorabedian) Santaniello, Wilma (Zorabedian) Swanson, Enrico Topazio, Thomas Zorabedian, and the late Myra (Topazio) Mudge.
Also: Lucille (Zanghi) Dow, Michael Zanghi, Robert Zanghi, Jeffrey Zanghi, Shirley (DeAngelis) Sabetelli, John DeAngelis, Robert DeAngelis, David DeAngelis, and Audrey (DeAngelis) Croce. In addition, she leaves her dear, best friend, and sometimes caretaker, Michele Simpson.
Her funeral services are private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richard Zorabedian Memorial Scholarship at Rhode Island College Foundation, Kauffman Center, 600 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence, RI 02908 or go to https://ric/endowments.
