96, of Connecticut, formerly of Providence, RI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick S. Gratchian and the daughter of the late Krikor and Yeghnar (Yaghjian) Dadekhian.
Born in Providence, she worked as a seamstress/designer modifying and fitting dresses for the elite “Topal-Carlson” – Providence, RI. She later married and moved to Connecticut using her sewing skills to be a great homemaker-designing and sewing for her family. Alice also went on to study Interior Design receiving a certificate diploma. She was also employed by Reads, Jordan Marsh and Macys until her retirement in the 90’s.
Alice was a member of the Holy Ascension Armenian Apostolic Church in Trumbull, CT and a past member of the Ladies Guild.
Alice was devoted to her family and was a very kind, sweet, unselfish person.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Alice Helene and Barbara and loving devoted dog Millie. Alice is the sister of the late Suren Dadekhian and Arshalous Mourachian.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday, June 9th at 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence at 12 noon. Burial will be at North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS are THURSDAY MORNING from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
