85, of Cranston, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, at home with his family
Al was the husband of Lillian (Pat) (Reilly) Crudale. Al and Pat had been married for 62 years.
Al was a lifelong resident of Cranston and communicant of Saint Mary's Church. Al was the son of the late Arthur and Angelina (Cardi) Crudale.
Al graduated from Cranston High in 1948. He was a member of the RIANG, retiring many years ago. He received a certificate degree from Electronic Computer Programming Institute, where he graduated first in his class.
He belonged to The Teamsters Local 251 and the Teamster Retirees. He was employed in the construction field for most of his life. Al drove a dump truck and water wagon for Campanella and Cardi Construction Company and later A. Cardi Construction and Cardi Corporation. Al was also involved and worked with his former son in law at Kar Kare Inc, in Cranston and helped with his son's business, AGC Automotive Warehouse, in Cranston. In the 1960's Al was involved with the YMCA Indian Guides where he was known as Chief Big Fox. He also was instrumental in starting the RI Flea Market Dealers Association, in the 1970's, of which he became the President. After his bypass surgery in 1988, Al became a member of the Mended Hearts Association, R.I.Chapter 185. He went on to serve as Treasurer, Vice President and President of the group. He currently was the President of the Mended Hearts and Treasurer for the Teamsters Retirees. Al was a "Mr. Fix It" and loved tinkering and fixing things. His hobbies included reading, drawing, tinkering, and until recently, riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus at the Mended Hearts Christmas parties and for the children at the day care. Al had a colorful personality and quick wit and enjoyed making people smile
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Karen E. Kuski, of Cranston and Alphonse E. Crudale Jr. of Newburgh, NY. Al was also the father of the late Arthur G. Crudale of Cranston. Al is the grandfather of Michael Kuski and his wife Amanda of North Scituate, Ryanne Richardson and her husband Shaun of Virginia Beach, Robert Kuski and his wife, Lauren of North Kingstown, Mark Kuski and his wife Jillean of North Kingstown, Cynthia Crudale of Connecticut, Al Crudale III of Newburg, NY and Joseph, Brittany and Katelyn Crudale of Providence. He was the great grandfather of Jayden Crudale, Tyler Kuski, Joseph Crudale, Emily Kuski, Aiden Kuski, Jack Richardson, Lily Kuski, Serenity Salmeron Crudale and Riley Richardson.Al was also the great grandfather of the late Arianna E. Carnevale-Kuski. Al was the father in law of the late Annette (McCormick) and brother of the late Angelo H. Crudale and the late Arthur A. Crudale. Al was the former father in law of William Kuski and Ann Crudale. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren and cousins.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m.
