91, of Coventry, went to join his Heavenly Father on November 18, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family. Alvin was the beloved husband of the late Arlene ( Wilbur) Brown.  He was born in Providence, a son of the late Raymond Brown and Henrietta ( Spitznagel) Brown.

Alvin worked for the Department of Transportation for the City of Providence for many years until his retirement. He was also an Army Korean War veteran. Alvin was a dedicated Red Sox’s fan, and enjoyed dancing, music and playing his harmonica.  He was also a member of the Local #1033 and a volunteer for the Federation of the blind. Out of all his accomplishments in life, his family is what brought him his greatest joy and what he was most proud of.

He is survived by his loving children: Keith Brown of Warwick, John Brown of Coventry, Lawrence Brown of Cranston and Valerie Boudreau of Coventry.  Alvin was the cherished grandfather of 10, great grandfather of 12 and dear brother of: Dorothy McNally of Pawtucket and Teresa Brown of Cranston.  He was also the brother of the late: Charles, Calvin, Raymond, William, and Robert Brown and Henrietta Wood.

His visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4-8pm in the Nardolillo Funeral Home , 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday morning from the funeral home at 10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Coventry. Burial with military honors will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Memorial Fund, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
