87, of Johnston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of sixty-four years to Giovannina (Russo) Cardillo. Born in Prata Sannita Caserta, Italy, he was a son of the late Michele and Antonia (Marino) Cardillo. Americo was a fork lift operator for the former Cranston Print Works for many years before his retirement. He was a founder, past officer, and member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society. His hobbies were gardening, winemaking, and spending time with friends at the Prata Society. Americo lived his life for his family and loved ones bringing them to the United States for a better life. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Antonia Muccio and her husband Giovanni of Scituate, and Michael G. Cardillo of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph Muccio, David Muccio, Americo Cardillo, Stefano Cardillo, John Muccio, and the great-grandfather of Victoria, Elizabeth, and Leah. Americo was the brother of the late Filomena, Antonio, Erminia, Domenico, Giovanni, Carmine, Letizia, Vingenzo, and Teodolinda Cardillo. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston.
