Americo L. DiPrete

85, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Americo and Evelyn (Marino) DiPrete. A dedicated educator, Americo served as a science teacher with the Warwick School Department and, over the course of his career, led several academic departments before his retirement.

In his younger years he delighted in dancing and performing at venues throughout the area, and music remained a lifelong joy. He was an adventurer at heart, traveling widely across the country, and he found particular peace in nature and the companionship of dogs.

Americo was the brother of the late Steven DiPrete. He is survived by many loving cousins and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial and visiting hours will be private.
