Americo A. Tortolani, Jr.

88, of Johnston, suddenly passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at RI Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Martha (Mitola) Tortolani for sixty-five years. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Americo Tortolani, Sr. and Bertha (Fagiano) Tortolani. Mr. Tortolani was a self-employed finish carpenter. Americo was a corporal in the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his two loving children, Robert Tortolani and his wife Lynn of Hope and Patricia Tortolani-Magill and her husband John of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Kendra Prattico, Jenna Prattico and her fiancé Jason Wisher, Ariana Tortolani, Matthew Tortolani and Michael Tortolani. He was the brother of Anna Tortolani of Cranston and the late Petrina Tortolani. He also leaves behind his dog poodle Touché III.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 6th, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church in Johnston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000-Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38101.
