Angela Olivia (DeRobbio) Barletta died peacefully in her home on Monday July 24, 2023 at the age of 100+ years.  A resident for some 68 years in that home located in Johnston RI, she was the widow of the late Alphonse Barletta.  Angela was born and raised in the Federal Hill section of Providence, the eldest daughter of immigrant parents, Oreste Ernesto DeRobbio and Maria Gesualda Della Grotta,  Angela was one of four children: Olive C. Lanni, the late Katherine Castellone, and the late Judge Albert E. DeRobbio.

Angela was a life-long member of Holy Ghost Church, where she served as a bookkeeper, accountant and  auditor of the church corporation for over 30 years after her retirement as a junior accountant from Uniroyal Corporation in Providence. Beyond investing her talents in oversight of the church financial operations, Angela was also an active member of the social community of the parish as both a charter member and officer of the Catholic Women's League of the Holy Ghost Church, serving as Chairman of the Church Board and Parish Reunion of the Holy Ghost Church, member of the School Board of the church as well as the St. Vincent de Paul Member Society there.  She remained active within her church family well into her 90’s and was pleased to celebrate her hundredth birthday with them this past September.

Angela is survived boy her two sons William Barletta of Newton MA and Robert Barletta of S. Angelo d’Alife (IT), their wives Beverly (Eichorn) Barletta and Gigliola Melenchi, four grandchildren: Justine, Giancarlo, Christian and Gregory; as well as five great-grand children: Peter, William, Jacob, Caleigh, Addison.  She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 5, 2023, at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909. Everyone is invited directly to church. Entombment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Kindly Omit flowers. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
