91 of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20th, at Golden Crest Nursing Centre, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Pasquale (Pat) Rocchio, retired Major, PPD for 60 years. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore M. and Maria (Santurri) Pazienza.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Robert J. Rocchio, (Anne-Marie) of Coventry, Patricia A. Brophy (Dennis) of Smithfield, Michael P. Rocchio (Susan) of North Providence, James D. Rocchio (Ted) of North Providence and Pasquale R. Rocchio Jr. (Chanthan) of Providence. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and her dear sister and best friend, Shirley D’Ambruoso of Warwick. She was the sister of late Rose Di Troia, Ida Ursillo, Viola Tossoni, Malfisa Andreozzi, Esther D’Arezzo, Connie Mc Hugh, Evelina Laprocina, Joseph, Guido, Salvatore and Joseph H. (Pepsi) Pazienza.
Barbara was a beautiful, vibrant, and compassionate woman whose presence impacted all those she encountered. An avid golfer and an active member of the Johnston Senior Center, she embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit that inspired those around her. She cherished the deep friendships she built and nurtured, always offering kindness, humor, and a positive outlook. Barbara’s outgoing nature and genuine warmth left a lasting impression and her love for life was unmistakable.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 26th, at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: WEDNESDAY from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
Our family would like to express gratitude to the staff at RI Hospital (Emergency Room and Stroke Unit) as well as to Golden Crest Nursing Centre and its staff for its exceptional care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golden Crest Nursing Centre, 100 Smithfield Rd, 02904.
