Angelo Salvatore Palazzo

76, a lifelong resident of Cranston, devoted father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Henry and Leda (Schipis) Palazzo.

As a child, Angelo enjoyed summers spent in Montecatini Terme, Italy with his grandparents and siblings. He would carry those early days with him through the entirety of his life, speaking fluent Italian whenever possible and passing on lessons learned to his own family.

As a loyal son of Knightsville, Angelo graduated from Cranston High School West in 1967 and studied Engineering at Roger Williams College. He would go on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army National Guard, earning marks as a sharpshooter and rifleman.

A tireless worker, Angelo began his professional journey at a young age alongside his father at A & H Electric. He would become a Master Electrician at the age of 19 and establish his own businesses, first with Cranston Electric and later HP Electric, earning a reputation as a respected professional and friend.

Angelo was also deeply involved in youth sports, coaching for CLCF for over 20 years. He was proud to have coached wrestling, basketball, gals’ softball, and led a junior peewee football team to a national championship.

He served on the board of the Cranston Housing Authority, was a past member of the Italo-American Club in Providence, had a love for historical documentaries, and was an avid collector of classic cars. His annual trips to Hershey were a mainstay on his calendar and he spent countless hours meticulously restoring classic Fords – from Mustangs and Fairlanes to T-Birds.

He is survived by his two loving children, Henry E. Palazzo, and Michelle P. Shevlin (Thomas); his cherished grandson, Thomas F. Shevlin, III; Diane Palazzo; dear sisters Gloria DiZoglio and her husband Frank, and Linda Marcello. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Stephen Marcello and is also survived by nephew Frank DiZoglio III, and nieces, Julie Procaccianti and Lauren Marcello.

He leaves a legacy of loyalty, service, and storytelling which will be profoundly missed.
